Hirzer area
Hikes for young and old…
Take the Hirzerbahn cable car in Saltaus to reach the Hirzer hiking area. A wide range of hiking trails and routes, with varying levels of difficulty, await you. There are also plenty of places to stop for refreshments.

Alpine pasture Obisell
Short and sweet…
From the Öbersthöfen in Vernuer, the trail starts with a steep climb through the forest up to the foot of the Pfitschkopf, Riffian’s local mountain. From there, a narrow path leads gently uphill towards the Obisellalm. After a tough hike, the cool mountain lake awaits you. The return route takes you via the Untere Obisellalm.

Spronser Lakes
A summit pool for the brave…
Take the Mut cable car in Dorf Tirol to reach the Muthöfe. From there, a hiking trail leads you to the 10 Spronser Lakes. If you have a head for heights, you can…

Tappeiner Hiking Trail
A leisure trail above the spa town…
The Tappeinerweg leads from the Gilfpromenade to Gratsch. A very pleasant trail, well worth taking to enjoy the view of Merano. Be sure to climb the highlight, the Pulverturm.

The hiking trail starts at the Falzeben car park in Hafling/Meran2000 and leads to the top station of the Naif cable car. The path then continues towards the Oswald Chapel; from there, you can already see your destination – the hike takes another half an hour from there.
Tip: If you take the Naif cable car from Merano Obermais to the top station, you’ll save yourself a 300-metre climb and about an hour’s walk.

Lake Kratzberger
Hot and cold…
The hiking trail starts from the Falzeben car park in Hafling/Meran2000 and leads to the top station of the Naif cable car. From there, take the trail towards the Waidmann-Alm and the Missensteinjoch. Once there, a narrow path leads you to Lake Kratzberger.

Alpine Hut Ifinger
Peaceful. Relaxed. Mountain life.
From Schenna, the Taser cable car takes you to the starting point of our hike. Next to the Taser inn, the hiking trail to the peaceful Ifingerhütte begins, directly beneath the Ifinger massif.

Stoanerne Mandln
In the footsteps of the witches…
From the Schermoos car park in Flaas, follow the E5 trail to the Möltner Kaser. From here, continue towards ‘Stoanerne Mandln’. The return route takes you via the Jenesier Jöchlalm and back to the starting point.

Vigiljoch
The little church of St. Vigil is waiting for your visit…
From the centre of Lana, the Vigiljoch cable car takes you to the mountain station in 6 minutes. There are numerous hiking trails leading up to and around the Vigiljoch.

1000-Step Gorge
The power of water…
The starting point is the Texelbahn mountain station in Partschins. The hike follows the Meraner Höhenweg westwards. It then leads to the two gorges, which require a good level of fitness – but don’t worry, there aren’t 1000 steps, just 989. Follow path number 10 to reach the Unterstell Naturns cable car mountain station. From the valley station, walk back to the town centre via St. Zeno Street. Use public transport for the return journey to Partschins.

Panoramic view over Merano…
Start your tour on the Vellau chairlift in Mitterplars/Algund. From Vellau, the route continues uphill to Kienegger and Oberplatzer. From there, the path leads to the top station of the Vellau-Leiter Alm basket lift. The return journey can be made on foot or comfortably by taking the Vellau-Leiter Alm chairlift to Vellau and then the chairlift to Algund.

Gorge Gaul
An exclusive jungle experience…
From the Falschauer Bridge in Lana, the route leads into the well-maintained Gaulschlucht gorge. You’ll find a lovely, leisurely circular walk. It’s pleasantly cool here, especially in summer, and the humidity allows a jungle to thrive.

St Hippolyt Church
The Burgrave’s Royal Lodge…
On the way to the Gampen Pass, park at the Naraun car park. From there, a forest path leads to St Hippolyt Church, which is only open on its patron saint’s day, 13 August. Nevertheless, the easy walk is well worth it thanks to the fantastic views.

Castle hike near Eppan
Witnesses to history…
Start in Missian, above Eppan, at Korb Castle, then the trail leads on to Hocheppan Castle. After a 60-metre-long wooden staircase, you’ll reach the ruins of Boymont Castle, then walk back a short distance to return to your starting point.
